SHORT BIO – Katerina Koliou

Katerina Koliou is a Transportation Engineer and Researcher at the Laboratory of Transportation Engineering of NTUA. She holds an Integrated Master in Engineering from the School of Rural, Surveying & Geoinformatics Engineering (2018) and an M.Sc. in Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering, with a major concertation in Transportation Engineering from the Florida Atlantic University (2021).

Her research interests focus mainly on traffic studies and logistics. For the past two years, she has participated in several research projects, such as SIM4MTRAN and UPGRADE. The subject of her PhD thesis focuses on traffic state prediction and hybrid modelling by integrating multiple sources of big data.

SHORT BIO – Aliki Pouliasi

Aliki Pouliasi is a Transportation Engineer, graduated from Civil Engineering School of the NTUA. She holds a Master’s Degree in Transport and Logistics from Denmark’s Technical University (DTU) and her thesis on the Strategic & Operational Design of a Hinterland Synchromodal Transportation Network was a joined project between DTU and TU Delft. Over the last 9 years, she studied and worked abroad.

She has extensive professional experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Network Optimization, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. She currently works as a Research Associate and a PhD Candidate at the Laboratory of Transportation Engineering (School of Rural, Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering, NTUA) focusing on urban mobility, sustainable transport and public transport optimization topics.

THE UNIVERSITY

The Laboratory of Transportation Engineering (LTSE) was founded in 1998 and is responsible for all educational and research activities related to the design, organization, operation and evaluation of transportation systems and infrastructures of the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering of NTUA. The fields of activity of the LoTE include road and railway infrastructure and airport design, traffic engineering, transport planning, railway design, intelligent transport systems, transport economics and road safety. The staff of the LoTE consists of 3 faculty members, 5 postdoctoral fellows, 9 PhD candidates and 3 associates.
